Seeing the Northeast anew

I love having guests from faraway places–in this case, our dear friends Laurence and François Roy from Montaigu, France. They love history, adventures and good food and wine as we do, and François is also a bird expert, which added and new and fun aspect to our travels together.

IMG_4480We started out in New York and thanks to Marriott Points, we were able to stay at the Essex. Sunny, clear skies overhead, we meandered through the park, did the requisite photo op at Strawberry Fields and had a delicious lunch at Boulud Sud, one of Daniel Boulud’s restaurants right across from Lincoln Center. Times Square, Greenwich Village, the 911 Memorial Museum and Wall Street followed, before heading back to Connecticut.

Of course home in Tolland means friends for dinner! Eating and cooking on the deck is a favorite summertime event!

But seeing the New York and New England was the priority. Below you can see a sampling of the adventures, the people and the places.
